Terms and Conditions

We are a fun and friendly company and we offer a bespoke service that suits you and your pet. But we do need to be serious at times too. So below is a list of our terms and conditions.

Weather Policy

Your dog’s safety and comfort come first—always.

Walks will not take place in extreme temperatures. If it’s over 22°C, you’ll have the option to reschedule or switch to a pop-in session instead. We’ll give you at least 24 hours’ notice if this becomes necessary.

In colder weather (under 5°C), walks will be assessed on a case-by-case basis depending on your dog’s breed, health, and comfort level.

We’re happy to walk in the rain—with your consent—but kindly ask that you leave out a towel so we can dry your pup before coming back inside.

For safety reasons, we do not walk during:
- Thunderstorms
- Icy conditions
- High-risk wind warnings
- Heavy snow (unless deemed safe)

We appreciate your understanding and will always keep you updated about changes due to weather. Flexibility helps us ensure every pet’s welfare remains our top priority, rain or shine!

First Aid & Veterinary Care

We’re trained and ready for emergencies.

In the unlikely event of an incident, Barktastic Beasts is equipped to provide immediate canine first aid, including CPR, bandaging, tick removal, and temperature regulation for heat or cold-related issues.

If veterinary care is required, your dog will be promptly transported to your nominated veterinary practice. If we are unable to reach you and no alternative arrangements have been made, we reserve the right to act in the best interest of your dog’s health and safety.

Please note: any veterinary costs incurred will be the owner’s responsibility. We will always prioritise your pet’s wellbeing and make every effort to keep you informed throughout.

Cancellations

Life happens—we get it!

Please provide at least 24 hours’ notice for any cancellations or changes. This helps us manage our time and accommodate other pets.

If we arrive and cannot access your dog (e.g. no key left or no one home without prior notice), a 50% cancellation fee will apply.

Lead & Harness Safety

For walks to go ahead safely, your dog must be able to wear a lead or harness without risk of biting or slipping free. If this can’t be done safely, services may need to be postponed until the issue is resolved.

Health & Behaviour Updates

Keeping us in the loop keeps your dog safe and happy.

Please inform us of any:
- Changes in behaviour
- New illnesses or injuries
- Escapist tendencies
- Temperament shifts or unusual behaviour

We’ll notify you of any issues we observe, and if needed, create a tailored plan or suggest temporary service suspension to support your pet.

Even minor changes at home (like renovations or visitors) can impact your dog—feel free to share anything you think might affect their mood or comfort.

Vaccinations, Microchipping & Preventative Care

All dogs must:
- Be microchipped
- Be fully vaccinated in line with veterinary guidance
- Be up-to-date with flea, tick, and worm treatments

Please provide vaccination proof before services begin.

All dogs must also wear a collar or harness with ID tags showing current contact details. It’s a simple but essential safety precaution.

Barktastic Beasts is not liable for the transmission of parasites, though we take all reasonable steps to maintain a clean and safe environment.

Payment Terms

We accept cash or bank transfer, with payment options available on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis—whatever works best for you.

Payment is due within 24 hours of your booking. Late payments may require advance payment for future services.

Key Handling & Security

Access can be arranged via:
- Someone being home
- A securely stored key
- A designated safe location

Keys are stored securely when not in use. If a key is lost due to our error, we’ll cover replacement costs.

Please inform us if your security codes or locks change, so we can update our records and keep everything running smoothly.

We cannot accept responsibility for any damage caused by your pet while unsupervised before or after our visit.

Privacy & Data Protection

Your privacy matters. All personal information is kept confidential and will never be shared without your consent—except in emergencies, such as when a vet needs your contact details.

Please keep your emergency and vet contact info up to date so we can respond quickly if needed.

Photos & Social Media

We love showing off your dog’s adventures! Unless you choose to opt out, we may post photos or videos on social media. No identifiable information—like addresses or ID tags—will ever be shared.

Prefer to keep things private? Just let us know! We’ll still happily send you direct updates and photos.

Aggressive or Dangerous Pets

The safety of all pets and people is non-negotiable.

We reserve the right to refuse or discontinue services if a dog exhibits aggression or behaviours that could pose a risk.

Please disclose any behavioural concerns or known triggers in advance. With the right info, we can assess whether we’re the right fit for your dog’s needs.

Emergency Contact Authorisation

By providing an emergency contact, you authorise that person to make decisions on your behalf if we can’t reach you—regarding your pet, access to your property, or urgent care needs.

Make sure they’re familiar with your wishes and can act in your absence.

Dog Walking Procedure

Your pup will be walked for the full duration booked (usually one hour), although time may be adjusted slightly if needed for:
- Fitting gear
- Settling nerves
- Providing medication or enrichment

Walks are always tailored to your dog’s comfort and wellbeing.

Pop-In Sessions

Pop-ins typically last one hour unless otherwise agreed. During this time, we provide company, toilet breaks, and—if arranged—feeding, medication, or playtime.

Your pet’s routine and comfort are always our focus.

Food & Medication

All food and medications must be supplied by you and left in an accessible location. This ensures consistency in care and avoids potential allergies or sensitivities.

We’re happy to offer our own treats (with your permission) or give your dog special ones you provide.

Delays & On-Site Communication

We strive to be on time, but traffic or unforeseen delays may occasionally happen. If we’re running late, we’ll update you as soon as it’s safe to do so—never while driving.

Please let us know if:
- You’ll unexpectedly be home
- Tradespeople or visitors are expected
- Any other changes could affect the visit

This helps us prepare your dog and maintain safety and calm for everyone.

Acceptance of Terms

By using services from Barktastic Beasts, you confirm that you’ve read, understood, and agreed to these terms and conditions.
